Discussing Presentation Feedback 05.03.21

Today we held another meeting with all of the members to discuss the presentation feedback that we received about the set-up of our studio practice. This gave us an opportunity to reflect on what went well and what needs to be improved so that we can all agree on the next steps for our practice. As a result of our discussion, we were able to decide on the tasks that we should contribute towards as a whole group and which tasks should be worked on in our smaller focus groups.  

Legal Business Structure 

For the advised refinement of the legal structure, we decided that our legal team will do some further research into Foster + Partners and will think about who the partners in our practice will be. Then in our next meeting we will have a discussion and finalise the legal business structure so that we can move on and focus on the designing of our exhibition.

Social Media, Website and Blog 

Following the presentation, we had a conversation about the progression of our Instagram page, website and blog to ensure that we are all satisfied with the how they are developing and to come up with any improvements or updates that can be made.  


Instagram

As for Instagram, we collectively decided that our images and personal bios would be uploaded gradually so that we are active on our social media page while we work on the design of our exhibition. Then we will begin to post about the process of our design through sketches and illustrations to show the development of our ideas. 




Website

All of our photographs, role titles and personal bios have now been uploaded onto our website so that it is possible to see what position every member has in the practice and how our individual interests and experiences have helped us to work effectively as a group.  




Blog

In terms of the blog, we talked more about what content we want to show through our updates and came up with the next few blog posts for our blog team to work on. We thought that a post about how the presentation went and the feedback that we received would be beneficial for us to refer back to as we make changes to our practice.

A 'Blog' folder was created for collecting the process work that everyone does so that it is easier for the blog team to put these posts together. A document was also made for the suggestion of blog posts so that they can be discussed in the meetings.


Furthermore, it was decided that there would be a post summarising what was talked about in the meeting each week with the use of photographs, images and screenshots to give a visual update of our progress.  


Exhibition  

We had a brief discussion about the exhibition and what needs to be done for next week to make sure that we continue to make good progress. We will find inspiration from existing exhibitions and start to sketch out ideas and create diagrams for the design and layout of our exhibition.  

The possibility of making a physical model of our exhibition design was mentioned but this will be discussed again in our next meeting, along with the sharing of ideas and sketches that we will be coming up with during the week.  


Staying Connected 

Although we are constantly messaging on our WhatsApp group chat to ensure that everyone is able to ask questions and keep up to date with any changes that happen, it is useful to have our weekly Zoom meetings as we are all able to gather in the same place at the same time.  

As we find it very beneficial, we discussed the possibility of having some meetings across the Easter break so that everyone can show what they have been working on and we can make sure that everyone is on the right track.
