Site Analysis Research
While the design team was working on developing the design for the exhibition, the research team looked more closely at the site surrounding the Eldon building. In order to come up with a successful design, we need to consider how the location of the exhibition space will influence the various components of the design and layout.
We had a closer look at the areas around the Eldon building to judge the accessibility of our exhibition space and how this could impact our design.
It was essential to evaluate the quality of the lighting that would come into the space as the display boards will need to have enough natural daylight to ensure they can be clearly seen, while ensuring there is not too much glare or damage to the work from too much exposure. As this will be a public event in a relatively small space, it will be necessary to have adequate ventilation in the space to bring in fresh air, this is especially important for reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19.
